Today I'm remembering a sweet friend.
It's hard to believe that 8 years ago today she went to be Jesus.
It's hard to believe that 8 years ago today she went to be Jesus.
Vivian had one of the happiest personalities of anyone that I have ever met. She would see the best in everything. She didn't hesitate showing her emotions or hold back her excitement. For example, the first time she came over to my house we hadn't known each other too well yet. We walked into my bedroom and she SCREAMED out loud. I was so caught off guard and thought something terrible happened. When I turned around, all I saw was Vivian flying through the air and landing on my bed.
She started laughing and said:
"I love your bed. It's so big and tall and there are so many pillows on it that I just HAD to run and jump on it."
I remember thinking: "Wow, this girl is not afraid to be herself."
I LOVED it.
Most 17 year old's (including myself) would have been too embarrassed of what there new friend might have thought of them...
but not Vivian.
She was full of life
. . . . .
Here's a few pictures I thought I would share
This was handed out at her memorial service
Born: November 23rd, 1984
Went to be with Jesus March 9, 2004
More than anything Vivian loved Jesus and lived her life honoring Him.
Her life is a beautiful testament
and her story has touched the lives of so many.
This video was made by Tim O'Brien and was shown at her Memorial service.
If you watch this movie, you might want to mute my playlist (located at the bottom of this page)
so that you can hear the movie.
If you knew Vivian,
please share a fun memory.
I would love to hear your favorite story of her.
Dana, what a sweet post of Vivian. I am so sad that I never got to meet her. I know she was a very special young lady just from knowing her friends and family. I love the first picture you posted of Vivian...so pretty!! Her life was a precious and beautiful testament. Thank you so much for sharing Dana.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathy! I forget that you never got to meet her, you would have loved her personality :)
DeleteGreat memorial Dana. I don't know how you did it, I barely got through just looking at it. Thanks for posting the video, it had been a few years since I saw it. A nice trip down memory lane- painful but nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks Natasha! There are so many great pictures of you and Vivian in the video, I love how you both have huge smiles on your faces in every single picture! I love the pic of us three on the beach :)
DeleteThanks for sharing this Dana. While we were at Burwood on the 9th, we pulled out our phones and looked at the video on here then we told stories about Vivian. Being without her is hard but she made things so fun that when we talk about her we can't help but laugh and smile.. Like the time you came to hang out with her and we sat on her bed and looked at each others teeth and laughed.. When she played tennis in high school, I was supposed to take here to and from practice but Vivian, Natasha and I decided to go watch movies at Brenden instead. She made everything so fun! Thank you for sharing so many amazing memories on your blog.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many memories to share! I love hearing stories about Vivian...they are always so funny. I remember that night we all wanted to see each others teeth...kinda weird, but really funny! That's so funny how you guys ditched tennis to see a movie. I recall a time or two that Vivian and I ditched Biology class at Stan State to go get something to eat instead. lol ;) Or the time she brought her new umbrella to every college class for a week hoping it would rain. The only reason she wanted it to rain was so that she could actually USE her new umbrella! Good times.
DeleteLove that memory Michael. She did make Everything fun. Wish I could have been with you all at Burwood; would have loved to hear other people's memories and stories. I'd have to say one of my favorite memories is always watching movies with Vivian at her house late at night, on really low volume downstairs, so not to wake her parents. I would fall asleep, like I always do in movies, but Vivian would stay awake and at each funny part she would hit me, laughing so hard, waking me up each time. I would force a laugh out and pretend I wasn't sleeping, so she wouldn't feel like she was watching the movie alone.
ReplyDeleteI love this Natasha! Everytime I watched a movie with her my arm was bruised by the end. I can't remember what the movie was called, but the last one I watched with her had Hillary Duff in it. She thought it was so funny. I was the one who rented the movie, so I was going to go return it. She asked me if she could take it back instead because she wanted to watch it one more time before it was returned. lol :) She loved movies
DeleteWe had a little girl august 22, 2010.....Vivian Miette, named after Vivian Kate. Her sweetness and zest for life was truly a joy.
ReplyDeleteI remember her as a shopkeeper at I love Paris and loved working with her.
